Job summary The NHS Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) national screening programme aims to reduce deaths from ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms through early detection, monitoring and treatment. An abdominal aortic aneurysm is a weakening of the main blood vessel in the body, the aorta. It causes a widening of the aorta, and forms what is called an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA).
