Job summary AMU is a busy 72 bedded unit, spread across 3 areas, taking direct admissions from ED. It has core inpatient beds and also includes an ambulatory care unit for same day emergency care. Our aim is for patients to be transferred to another ward area or safely discharged within 72 hours of admission, so the unit invariably has a high turn over of patients.
